Call for volunteers: Winter Action 2025/2026
The 2025/2026 edition of Winter Action is being organized by the Luxembourg Red Cross, Hëllef um Terrain (HUT), and Inter-Actions to help the most vulnerable members of our society during the coldest months of the year.
This initiative will provide homeless people with shelter in the multifunctional emergency facility at Findel. The educational team and volunteers will be on hand to welcome and distribute hot meals every day to those affected by the cold.
When and how to mobilise?
– Day center: from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for lunch and the rest room for our beneficiaries. Every day: preparing and serving meals, washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment, assisting the educational team with occasional activities, etc.
– Night center: from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for dinner and from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for breakfast service. Every day: preparing and serving meals, washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment, distributing hygiene products, etc.
Why mobilise?
Homelessness is affecting an ever-increasing number of vulnerable people in our society. So we’re appealing for volunteers who can support the professional team in distributing meals to the homeless and play an active part in the Winter 2025/2026 initiatives.
The volunteer team plays an important role. Their mobilisation alongside the professionals on the ground for the beneficiaries is the condition for guaranteeing the smooth running of this humanitarian action. What’s more, the warm, caring atmosphere that volunteers help to instil with their dynamism and motivation also helps those in need.
We see this human aspect as one of the pillars of a successful reception and follow-up. We are looking for volunteers who are prepared to make a regular commitment for the duration of the winter programme.
